The Community Healthy Living Fund (CHLF) provides funding to communities, community groups and organizations to plan and deliver initiatives to improve the health and well-being of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, to enhance opportunities for people to live healthy, active lifestyles, and to promote the creation of age-friendly communities.
A number of planning templates for common areas of interest in the category of program funding have been developed to assist applicants in the submission of their application. In addition to the planning templates, a variety of resources are also available to assist organizations to strengthen their knowledge of recreation, healthy living and wellness, and age friendliness. Effective April 1, 2017 all applicants to the CHLF seeking funding in excess of $1000 must be incorporated. Incorporation provides an organization with legal status and is an indication of stability as incorporated organizations have perpetual existence. The majority of recipients of CHLF grants are currently incorporated.
